Home Theater

The Ultimate in Home Entertainment

Home TheaterImagine walking downstairs, opening a door, and entering your very own movie theater. As you slide into one of the leather recliners, drop your soda into one of the built-in cup holders and relax, the lights slowly dim. A movie begins to play, sound surrounding you as bass thumps throughout the room. Characters on the screen look so real it seems like you could reach out and touch them.

Are you itching to have a room like this in your home? Maybe you’re not even sure what you want. Either way, we can help you create a dazzling home cinema experience.

Home Theater Elements

There are many things to consider when designing a home theater:

Theater Seating1) Theater Seating
Seating can make or break your movie experience, and there are many options available. Different fabrics, designs, motorized or non-motorized reclining, even seats that move and shake with the film you’re watching.

Here are some of our excellent seating manufacturers:
Bass Industries
Palliser Furniture

2) The Screen
In screen selection there are several things to consider.
1) The material it is made of determines how bright or dark your movies will look – and how bright of a projector you’ll need – and whether or not you can place your center channel behind it and out of view.
2) There are several aspect ratios to choose from depending on the content you’ll be watching most: standard HDTV (16:9), CinemaScope (2:35:1), and others.
3) The best size for the room.
4) What frame you’ll mount it in.
We can help you with all of these decisions to optimize your theater experience.

3) The Projector
ProjectorLike screens, there are many factors that influence the projector selection for each unique home theater, and we can help you make the right choice.
Things to consider: brightness, resolution, inputs, lamp life, distance from screen, angle, and aspect ratio
Also, if you want the true cinema feel with a wider aspect ratio (i.e., 2:35:1) screen, you will also need an anamorphic lens to properly stretch the projected image to fill the screen.

4) The Components
Your audio and video components make up the backbone of your home theater system, giving you the advanced picture and sound quality and entertainment options that make it cinematic. Here are the components most commonly found in modern home theaters, and some thoughts on each:

Audio/Video Receiver – For higher end systems (usually around $20-30k+), a separate amplifier and pre-processor is used to get the most out of each, rather than an all-in-one receiver.
Blu-ray Player – Many Blu-ray players today have options for streaming Netflix movies or other Internet content straight to your TV, and of course there are new 3D-ready players to consider.
Internet-connected Media Server – Aside from television or movies, a media server will give you the ability to view popular Internet content on your new big screen, or just organize your movie collection digitally
Remote Control Processor – A good, easy-to-use remote is a must to get the most enjoyment out of your theater system.
Power Conditioning Unit – Another necessity to not only provide power to so much equipment, but keep them safe from surges or other potentially damaging electrical problems.
Cooling System – Especially important for your equipment if it will be stored in a closet or other confined space.
