First, watch this
Lighting control is best seen, not explained.
Save energy and money
Over time, a lighting control system pays for itself in energy savings. These are just a few of the ways:
In areas like closets or a laundry room, where you only need light for a few minutes at a time, occupancy sensors will turn the lights on when you enter, and turn them off after you leave.
Let’s say you’re watching TV in the evening in your living room. You really don’t need the lights turned all the way up, but a common light switch doesn’t give you any other option. With lighting control, you’d push a “TV” button that will turn up the lights to a lower level better suited for that activity.
Even when you need a lot of light, a lighting control system can be set to make the “full on” option only 90%, instead of 100%. This is a small enough difference that you won’t visually notice, but you’ll be saving money on your electric bill and your bulbs will last longer, too.
The ultimate in convenience
Keypads, like the one shown here, can be added to the rooms or areas that you use the most in your home. Each keypad has buttons for programmed lighting “scenes” that fit your lifestyle. Control the lights in that area, or anywhere in your home, with the touch of a button.
For added convenience, your lighting system can be controlled from your Apple or Android smart phone or tablet, from anywhere in your home or anywhere in the world with Internet access.
Here are a few examples of popular one-touch lighting scenes:
Welcome: Turn lights on from a keypad in the entry and never enter a dark house again. Add a wireless visor controller in your car to trigger the “Welcome” scene and create a path from the garage to the kitchen.
Away: Touch one button when you leave for a night out and set all of your lights for an “at home” look.
Relax: Set lights just right for relaxing with a book or listening to music.
Entertain: Use lighting to create the mood for a dinner party or for entertaining a house full of guests. Lights come on in places like the kitchen and living room, and turn off in bedrooms and areas where you don’t want guests to go.
Hall: Create a path that turns on hall lights at low levels. This is ideal for lighting paths for your children to your room or for creating safe lighting to the kitchen for a late night snack.
All On: If needed, light your house with one touch of the All On button.
All Off: Frustrated with lights being left on at night? A single touch on the master control by the bed will turn off every light in the house. Prefer to have some lights on at night? A custom lighting scene can be created to turn on certain lights in the house at low dim levels for security and energy savings.
Add elegance with a button press
Lighting control transforms your home into the ultimate refuge after a long day. The right lighting levels can make a home feel warm and comfortable and create the perfect mood for whatever activity you choose.
Lighting scenes can be customized just for you and allow you to have reliable and total control of your home’s ambience.
Here are a few examples of elegant, activity based lighting scenes:
Dining: With the press of a button, the chandelier above the table lowers to a wonderful warm ambiance. Even the food tastes better when the mood is right!
Showtime: Bring a movie to life with lighting that compliments any home theater or living room.
Pool: Provide bright pathway lighting to the pool for safety, but softer mood lighting by the pool house.
Landscape: Create beautiful outdoor lighting environments with one touch of a button. Highlight the features and textures of your outdoor garden and landscaping at night. Scenes like these we often automate to turn on with the sunset, so you won’t even have to press a button!
A color for every room
In addition, Lutron dimmers and keypads can be ordered in a variety of colors, so you’re sure to find one that matches every room and style in your house!
How it works
We install is the Lutron RadioRA 2 system, which is wireless. This means there’s no need for cutting holes and running wire throughout your house. Your existing light switches are replaced with Lutron wireless dimmers. We also install keypads in key areas of your home – the kitchen, the master bedroom, the garage – giving you convenient control of the lights in your house where you need it most.
